Yes, That is what is happening nowadyas! Old parents are just becoming a burden for the fast moving generations of today! but what they don’t understand is that these parents are the strong pillars which can provide us the support nedded for our lives! But, you know what, when you point fingers at the daughter-in-law for doing so, you make a mistake! Because, according to me the biggest mistake lies with the son, who could be so stupid to make his parents leave, just on hearing his wife’s words!

I have also got married, barely 5 months ago! And I know what is it like having elders around you! With their experience and love, I feel confident of running my married life in an appropriate manner!

Indeed! I feel this is the sheer bad luck of a person if he does so, however, our world continues to go thorugh moral degeneration... elders are indeed a blessing and i fell the older they grow, the more they become useless to us and we want to discard them!

(btw, there is somthing wrong with me accessing your page! i cant give comments there! I am brimming with comments on ur wonderful new story and there is some technical issues.... or may be my connection has gone mad!)

It is our indulgence in pleasures for our self which leads to such a situation.

It is the basic problem due to our desires for worldly pleasure which overtake the responsibilities and duties which we must do.

I pray that this happens to no parents in the world...

I feel the one who cannot be grateful to his parents or love them, he cant be grateful to God or any other person...

Once it happend in the times of Prophet (PBUH) that there was battle and people were gahering to participate. There was a man who wanted to take part but since his mother was sick the Prophet (PBUH) did not allow him to do so saying, ”Go and serve your mother; that is your jehad (strife in the cause of God).”

I love this incident as the rights of parents are considered greater than saving one’s land or faith if the situation demands :)

The bottom picture brings tears to my eyes. This is a sorry state of affairs. Children shun their elders cruelly and do not remember the sacrifices that they have made for them.

However, I would like to point out that there are some parents who are very possesive about their children and do not let them lead smooth marital lives.

Thanks for visiting Leena. Yes, i agree that some parents are unfair to their children esp. in the context you mentioned.

There are parent’s rights over children and vise versa. Particularly children once they grow up have the right to marry or live with their spouse however they chose to, but at the same time, the rights of the parents should be exercised fully.

More or less all are subject to commit this mistake in the young age and also face this problem in their old age. Very true picture of old age problem is presented. We are too busy for ourselves that there is no time, even to think about our old parents. We have become too sick and materialistic in our own world.
